10 Lorries in Harmony

For some, trucks seem functional, but not exactly prime inspiration for songwriting. But maybe that's why you're not a multi-platinum selling artist, because all these artists have managed to find their muse in the form of the humble HGV or the owner and operator of the job ...

69 Eyes - Truck On

While some have used the lorry as a metaphor for life, the Finnish Gothic Metal 69 Eyes speak clearly on the truck as a means to deliver loads from one place toanother. Things get a little strange, but at one point - perhaps the lead singer is always Stir Crazy in his taxi the night:

"Well, I'm Drivin 'amok Doggone's my luck but I do not give a **** And I'm Feelin' You mean Bleedin 'gasoline Would lick it clean?"

Pavement - Heaven is a Truck

The song title makes it look like Stephen Malkmus will create a stunning ode to the truck as paradise ... Although the text is the impression that Pavement Ideathe sky is a little more to earth than most of us:

"Heaven is a truck was stuck on the breeze told the driver well, I need a lift?" I need release The sands in the boats on the roses falling-floating "

Yello - The Lorry

Swiss electronica act Yello played the lonely elements of long-distance in their ode to lorries.

"Inside my truck I drive through the night Inside my lorry The world needs neatly from five to five I've got to go And if you askme wherever I go, I tell you from coast to coast is what I do "

When they are Swiss, then we will forgive not knowing that "rhyme go" and "do not".

Bobby Bare - Truck Driver, Truck Driver

Bobby Bare Truck driving song is taken slightly differently, all hitching from the perspective of "a highway bum" a ride singing, so increasingly bold requests. Starting with the "Do not think you could sorta scoot over a bit and give me a little more space, because I have long legs" viaasking for cigarettes and the truckers jacket all the way up to "I see in that plastic frame a picture of a sexy blonde and you know, that's my kind of woman, man would I like to grab your wife huh." Finally, the patience of the truck driver is worn, and The Hitcher said: "Well, if you give me a dollar and half I'll move around the line."

James Coffey - Hard Workin 'Truck

We have a truck songs from the perspective of the driver and passenger views, but this sets a newTrend by making the car singing! The song describes all the tasks, including the trucks provide convenient pick-up garbage can, ditches, construction and transport companies. The vehicle is apparently bragging about their talents: "No load is too heavy for my rig, no mountain too high, no job is too big ..."

Bill Monroe - Lonesome Truck Driver Blues

As the title of the truck driving song suggests ... This is another song highlighting the lonelinessthe open road. The song describes the entire journey up to the truck stops, but the drivers about the laws of the road certainly ring true with our current fears about government interference, "If you load too light that you are not a dime when you load difficult, then you get a fine. "The song has an upbeat ending however, highlighting the best part of many days, a long distance carrier:

"Oh, the engine purrin" I'm makin 'time Takin' me back to the babyfrom me, it will purrin "like a kitten when I walk in the door of the truck driver blues I sing no more"

David Lynn Jones - Bonnie Jean (Little Sister)

One country, about a woman by her husband with 3 young children, the left, has his long-distance truck-making factory to seek ballad coming rounds. It is a sad story, but few details are known mainly truck drivers:

"She's a runnin 'Down the Road from coast to coast, It's the little things she misses the She's aMother all day and all night, a trucker Livin 'on coffee and mini-white "

Weird Al Yankovic - Truck Drivin 'Song

Comedy songwriter Weird Al Yankovic's Truck Driving Song starts in the same style as the other truck songs:

"I drive a truck Drivin 'a Big Ol' truck Pedal to the Metal, I hope, not run of luck"

But is a quick little strange:

"Rollin 'on the highway until the break of dawn Drivin' a truck with my high heelson "

The song continues this theme to the macho stereotype of the industry contrary, probably angered some truck drivers in the process:

"Oh, I did not mind when my crotchless panties up on me and my nipple rings does not bother me too much but if I keep this lovin slippin big speed bumps My darling little rhinestone pumps" in front of parent 'creep clutch "

Of course, the trucks are not only bigger industrial vehicles have inspired songwriters - here are two moreslightly further away from the truck's mandate.

The Wurzels - Combine Harvester

The number one single - a review of "Brand New Key" by Melanie was a change of direction for the band after the death of songwriter Adge Cutler - at this point, the band moved from the original composition and to change other people's work. The West Country band moved away from farms and cider to pen another truck theme song "I want to be an Eddie StobartDriver

Nizlopi - JCB Song

Alt-folk act Nizlopi made by the big Christmas number one in 2005 - a song about a boy who escape into a fantasy world in the JCB Dad's away from the club at the school. Apart from the beautiful video, the song for his sudden change of fortune remarkable - the Christmas single was a re-release of a song that was # 160 go earlier in the charts on the first 6 months.

So if you spot a lorry heading pastYou strumming on the highway, or take on to an owner-operator, maybe its time to pull the guitar and get started!
